Delt Shared Services Ltd launched on 1st October 2014 and is a publicly owned private limited company.
The company started with two partners, Plymouth City Council (PCC) and NHS Northern, Eastern and Western (NEW) Devon Clinical Commissioning Group who between them, provide services for over 900,000 people.
Delt will initially deliver ICT services and systems to its partners.
Half a million pounds was awarded to PCC and NEW Devon CCG following a joint bid to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to help fund an ICT shared services plan. Delt will build a technological base within the South West of England and grow local talent by employing apprentices and recruiting, where possible, from local universities. Management expertise and systems will be shared and jobs, expertise and infrastructure will remain local. It will look to deliver effective outcomes for citizens and local communities through flexible, knowledgeable and trusted services.
